Our Commitment to Privacy

Your privacy is important to us at the Spruill Center for the Arts. This Privacy Policy explains our practices in collecting, using and protecting information.

The Information We Collect

When registering at the Spruill Center you will be prompted to furnish information including your name, address, telephone numbers, and email address. Some additional pertinent information may be required (e.g. – birth date for students under the age of 18). Some children’s courses will also require information such as emergency contact, rising grade, age, etc. When payment is made by credit card we also collect information on type of card, card number, and expiration date.

How We Use Information

We use the information you provide to complete your request (i.e. – inclusion in our database to receive catalogs and other information; registering and paying for a membership; registering and paying for art courses).

We use your contact information to notify you of a course change or cancellation. Should the information provided be invalid, we are not responsible for failure to contact you in the event of a course change/cancellation. Contact information is provided to your instructor with their attendance roster so they may contact you with information regarding the course for which you are enrolled.

Your contact information is added to our database to ensure that you receive a copy of our paper catalog by mail, and to send email confirmation receipts with registration information. Recruitment emails will also be sent to you on occasion to notify you of new/added courses, course updates, or to bolster enrollment. If you would like to be removed from this email list, please contact the registration office at 770-394-3447, ext 0.

We understand that your personal information is sensitive and private. Your information will not be shared or sold to others. Credit card data is transmitted securely encrypted, and only in order to complete purchase transactions.

Information is retained in our active database for five (5) years unless there has been a request to delete it. After that time, data is archived. Credit card information does not remain valid for five years.

We are Committed to Data Security

To protect against unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy and to ensure proper use of information, there are managerial, electronic and physical measures in place to assure the security of information we collect. The Spruill Center maintains a security certificate and uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts the information you input.

Credit card numbers are only accessible to selected members of our staff with high security designations, in order to be able to process refunds and in the instance that there is a disputed charge.

Always protect your log-in information to avoid unauthorized access into your account, and be sure to sign out of your account when using a shared computer.

If legally ordered to do so, the Spruill Center for the Arts will provide required information from its database to proper legal authorities.
