COLLAGE COMPILATIONS: EXPANDING OUR COLLAGE PRACTICE

There are no scheduled sessions at this time. Sign up to be notified when this course is available.

We will create several collages by doing the following respectively: combining like images, unifying unrelated components, and adding apertures with paper punches to create rhythm. We will create our own unique design elements discovered within the images provided, and draw, cut out and incorporate them into our collages. Let's practice cutting, arranging, and re-shuffling components to create cohesion and balance. We encourage you to register. We have a lot of fun! This course is excellent for emerging collagists as well as those familiar with the practice. Collage kits will be provided, and at the close of the workshop you’ll have several pieces of your own creation to take home with you. What is collage? The word collage comes from the French: coller, "to glue" or "to stick together.” It is a technique of art creation, primarily used in the visual arts, but in music too, by which art results from an assembly of different forms, thus creating a new whole. Collage can be created with many materials, but we will be using paper. Supply List available on www.spruillarts.org.
