In this 2-day workshop, George McCauley will demonstrate his casual approach to making pots and share educational and entertainment aspects of his process. The first day he will begin with a short talk of introduction, explain and give out 2 tech sheets then get to work. He will make parts for pieces that will be put together the next day as well as pieces that are put together once only slightly dried. George will also share his performance art presentation, "George's House of Clay". The second day all the parts become finished pieces, decorated using slip and underglazes. George's decoration processes are varied, among them are GHOC Redneck Majolica, white slip on wet clay then underglaze, and white slip with underglaze on bone dry clay. He also uses underglaze on pots that are already fired with my majolica glaze. This workshop is a demonstration and lecture. There will not be any hands-on participation.
