In this workshop participants will learn the simple, fun techniques they can use to transform small, plain, wooden and metal boxes/tins into lovely Valentine’s Day gifts! We will be using colorful glass tiles in Valentine’s Day colors and themes, beads, Valentine themed charms and other unique items to decorate the boxes. These boxes make great gifts for friends, family or even yourself!
Each participant will be provided with one wooden box, two metal boxes/tins and all the supplies needed to decorate them during the workshop.
No previous mosaic experience necessary. All levels welcome!
NOTE: this workshop will not demonstrate grouting techniques.

Donna's Classes

Donna Kantak has been a resident of the Dunwoody/ Sandy Springs area for many years and a is a long-time enthusiastic participant in many classes at the Spruill Center including jewelry making, glass bead making, acrylic painting, and, most recently, mosaics. As a beginner in the area of mosaics she discovered she not only enjoyed but had a knack for decorating boxes and containers of all shapes and sizes using a wide assortment of materials like tiles, stained glass, beads, charms, temperered glass, chain, wire, and even repurposed jewelry! Over time the box projects have continued to change and diversify as she has experimented with different types of containers, methods and materials and now she would like to share the creative world of small mosaic boxes with others through the Small Mosaic Box Workshop at the Spruill Center.
