Learn how to safely etch your sterling silver using ferric nitrate and a Silhouette Cameo die-cutting machine to cut custom vinyl decals as the resist. We will cover how to apply the vinyl resist to your silver, how to safely and properly etch your silver, how to stop the etching process, how to clean up the chemicals when the etching process is complete, and how to store your chemicals properly. A list of all materials used in class will be provided.
*Students must come to class with a printed/hard copy black and white image (no grayscale) that they would like to have etched onto sterling silver. Students are welcome to bring as many as three black and white patterns/designs and up to 3 sheets of sterling silver to etch in the workshop. 18g (or thicker) sterling silver. Minimum sizing 3x3. All other materials, equipment, and chemicals are included.

Beth's Classes

Beth Kirtland began taking jewelry classes after working in Corporate America for several years. She discovered new passion and talent, and has been consistently polishing her skills (and silver!) over the last 10 years. After experiencing a life-altering injury and recovery, Beth's perspective of priority and purpose dramatically changed. Her artistic design exudes positive energy and joy. In her transformation, she not only creates, but also shares her ability and enthusiasm with others.
