Blank sketchbook pages can be scary but with a guide you can conquer that fear and get started with your creative journey. Your sketchbook will become a safe space for your innermost thoughts, dreams, and aspirations.
In this workshop, participants will use simple skills like cutting, gluing, hand-lettering and painting to transform their sketchbooks into works of art. I will share my favorite techniques for adding marks, color, texture, text and collage to your pages as you cultivate mindfulness during the process. Whether you’re seeking a tool for self-expression, stress relief, personal growth or simply a creative outlet, Sketchbook Journaling offers the outlet to unleash your artistic potential. All skill levels are welcomed.
NOTE: Please bring the following items with you: Sketchbook - any size new or used Variety of pens and/or markers Ephemera: Think ticket stubs, handwritten notes, postcards, a cool design from packaging, a doodle your kids made, a striking image from a magazine, a scrape of wrapping paper, paint chip samples from the hardware store, favorite photographs (photocopy them if you don't want to mess up the original), etc. Basically anything that is paper based that speaks to you and you don't mind painting or writing over.

Carrie’s Classes

More than just a form of artistic expression, Carrie’s creative process has served as a profound means of personal transformation. She views her artwork as a mirror to her inner world, navigating and processing emotions, thoughts, and experiences. Embracing the freedom to declutter her mind and surrender to the creative energy, she naturally gravitates towards utilizing the materials at her disposal - be it paint, paper, reclaimed wood or ephemera - in order to craft each unique piece. Through art, Carrie has managed to transform moments of uncertainty into opportunities for growth and self-discovery.
