Lauren Adams teaches a variety of one-day workshops throughout the year including, Acrylic for the Absolute Beginner, Pet Portrait, Color Mixing, and Abstract Landscape. She describes her teaching style as "focused and thoughtful ", while adding, "I am very systematic in the way I structure my classes around the fundamentals of technique, color theory, and composition, plus my students get a lot of one-on-one time in a supportive classroom atmosphere". Lauren adds, "There tends to be a feeling of community and camaraderie in my classes. They are FUN."

Lauren considers herself a contemporary Southern artist. Born and raised in rural Georgia, she has been enthralled by the natural world for as long as she can remember. This relationship comes out in her work no matter the style or medium. She came to teaching later in life after owning a successful decorative painting and mural company for many years. She was invited to teach a class at a local arts center and discovered a passion for helping others achieve their artistic goals. She is still dedicated to her studio practice as well, squeezing in painting time for commissions and personal work whenever she can. Working primarily in acrylic, oil, watercolor and gouache, Lauren's works run the gamut from traditional figurative work to large-scale abstract landscapes.

In addition to her studio practice, Lauren teaches painting privately and at local art centers.
