Kristin's Classes

I've spent the majority of my life in the Atlanta Metro area. One of my earliest memories is seeing the King Tutankhamun exhibit when it toured the U.S. back in the eighties. I have enjoyed art all of my life, and I love traveling to paint and see the works of other artists. Right now, my goal is to paint at McMurdo research station in Antarctica.

I graduated from Georgia College & State University with an undergraduate degree in art in 2003 and a master's degree in secondary education in 2008. Now I'm combining my two loves, teaching and art, by becoming an instructor at Spruill in 2022.

I'm a colorist, and I'm primarily interested in vibrancy of hue and texture. I work in a number of different mediums including: watercolor, acrylic, alcohol markers, oils, pastels, and more. I like to explore and mix mediums as well. My favorite subjects are birds and flowers. My favorite artist is Eugene Delacroix, a 19th century French romanticist painter.

Fun fact about me: I studied watercolors in Paris, France during university.
