We will create several collages by doing the following respectively: combining like images, unifying unrelated components, and adding apertures with paper punches to create rhythm. We will create our own unique design elements discovered within the images provided, and draw, cut out and incorporate them into our collages. Let's practice cutting, arranging, and re-shuffling components to create cohesion and balance. We encourage you to register. We have a lot of fun! This course is excellent for emerging collagists as well as those familiar with the practice. Collage kits will be provided, and at the close of the workshop you’ll have several pieces of your own creation to take home with you.
What is collage? The word collage comes from the French: coller, "to glue" or "to stick together.” It is a technique of art creation, primarily used in the visual arts, but in music too, by which art results from an assembly of different forms, thus creating a new whole. Collage can be created with many materials, but we will be using paper.

Moira's Classes

Moira De Ninno holds a BA in English, and a MS in Organization Development and Leadership. Each of her whimsical collages are compilations of bits of vintage ephemera. A lifelong maker of many creations, she counts among her favorite experiences the opportunity to exhibit and sell her dolls at the American Folk Art Museum in NYC. A member of the Atlanta Collage Society, she shows and sells her collages in the Atlanta metro area and beyond. Her work hangs in Atlanta corporate offices, has been twice published in Somerset Studio magazine, and is included in sets for Universal Studio and Netflix productions. Most importantly, it graces the walls of the homes of the individuals who purchase her work. See more of her work online at www.bricollageart.com and follow her on social media.
