In this workshop, students will learn how to create handmade paper and handbound books using readily available and recycled materials. Use scraps of drawing paper or shredded junkmail to create beautiful hand pulled paper with water and a blender. Learn how to use, purchase, or build your own mould and deckle for making paper. Bind your favorite papers (or handmade papers) into a hand sewn book or journal and make your own book cloth to cover repurposed book boards for covers. At the end of the day, students will leave with multiple sheets of handmade paper and at least two types of books, as well as the knowledge to create an endless variety of papers and books at home.

A Materials Kit Fee of $20 PAYABLE TO INSTRUCTOR AT FIRST CLASS provides most of the materials you need.
For more information regarding the Materials Kit and for additional items needed, please see Supply List at www.spruillarts.org.
