Pam's Classes

Award winning artist, Pam Wetzel, has been a Dunwoody, Georgia resident for 46 years. In 2014, she lost her husband of 52 years, and in search of finding a hobby, started watercolor painting at Spruill Center for the Arts in Dunwoody a year later. She was fortunate to connect with the perfect instructor who helped her develop a fresh, original, expressive style unique to Pam. She was attracted to ink and wash immediately, and that has been the focus of her painting ever since that first series of classes. That loose, free, style is reflected in her vibrant floral watercolor paintings and her extended original collections of notecards, greeting cards, tea towels, pillows, trivets and throws. Pam has studied and painted in Tuscany, Venice, France, Vail, Sonoma, Maine, Florida and Arizona, with world-famous watercolorists, Karlyn Holman, Fabio Cembranelli, Robert Leedy, Kathy Rennell Forbes, and Janet and Steve Rodgers and Shari Blaukopf. Her expressive, unconventional approach reflects her personal style of "not staying in the lines". Pam has been accepted into many juried exhibitions. In 2020 she was awarded the Gold Medal in the international juried exhibition, "25 Years of Il Chiostro Art".
