Hong Kong Mahjongg is a popular, fast-paced variant, often considered beginner, men, and child friendly. Due to its straight forward rules, it is a common social, cultural, and competitive game. Hong Kong Mahjongg uses 144 tiles to form 4 sets of three (pung/chow) and a pair (14 tiles).
It is played globally, representing a key social tradition.
No Prior Mah Jongg expereience needed.

Beverley Segel is a Mahj Life Certified Instructor and passionate teacher who helps new players build confidence quickly. With a friendly teaching technique and strong local ties, Beverley brings both warmth and expertise to the table. It’s important to remove the barriers to enter the wonderful world of Mahjongg and teach strictly within NMJL rules. I believe tiles, mats & pushers are tools of the trade and should be affordable and easily available. I offer my students a starter kit with everything they need to kick start their Mahj Journey.
