Jay's Classes

Jay Reddish is an Atlanta-based metalsmith, artist, and arts-based environmental educator specializing in sand casting with recycled and upcycled materials. Working across metal, textiles, and functional sculpture, their practice draws from medieval design, fantasy, and the natural world to explore transformation, sustainability, and storytelling. Reddish has spent over a decade teaching fine craft and functional art skills to learners of all ages, empowering students to build confidence, curiosity, and a sense of stewardship through hands-on making. Blending traditional techniques (such as metal casting, hand-stitching, and quilting) with contemporary tools like 3D printing and digital fabrication, their work challenges ideas of disposability and preciousness while inviting joy, care, and wonder into the everyday. Reddish has exhibited with Spruill Gallery, NYC Jewelry Week, Echo Contemporary, The Metal Museum, Queer Metalsmiths, and their series Touchpoint is a permanent installation at the University of Georgia.
