ADVANCED QUILLING TECHNIQUES
There are no scheduled sessions at this time. Sign up to be notified when this course is available.
This workshop is for students who have taken an introductory quilling course (or have equivalent quilling experience) and would like to expand their skills. Working with 1/4" paper, we will focus on the following techniques used in more advanced designs: -How to transfer key design elements, such as pattern outlines and placement markers, to your quilling surface; also tips for finding and adapting suitable designs. -How to do on-edge quilling (quilling with a single, unrolled strip of paper). On-edge quilling is used to outline shapes and letters, and is also used as a fill technique in many contemporary designs. You will receive several patterns and choose one to outline and create as your in-class project. -How to mount your finished piece in a frame or shadowbox; also tips for adapting a design to a particular frame or mat size. You will receive a 5x7" shadowbox to mount your in-class project. A Materials Kit fee of $15 PAYABLE TO THE INSTRUCTOR WHEN CLASS MEETS provides you with 1/4" paper in assorted colors, practice surfaces, patterns, and shadowbox. Students are expected to bring the items in the Supply List. BYO sack lunch for a SHORT on-site lunch break.
