According to Noah Webster, Drawing, essentially a technique where an instrument is used to mark paper or another two-dimensional surface in which images are depicted on a surface by making lines, tonal areas, washes and other non-linear marks. Instruments used might be pencils, NeoColor Crayons, pens with inks, brushes with paints, or any combination, The projects we will work on will examine the unique benefits each tool provides. We will better understand its use both on its own and in concert with any of the myriad of other available instruments --- all the while developing the skills needed through their artistic career. Remember, Drawing can & is often more about the experience ('the journey') than the results at least initially & the best tools are those with which you're comfortable and not being forced to fight your way across your work surface. Drawing is a visual art that uses an instrument to mark paper or another two-dimensional surface. Instruments are varied & over time we will learn much about each of them and the magic they bring to otherwise unadorned surfaces. They are the ones that encourage artists to stay loose and limit self judgment whenever possible. $10 MATERIALS FEE (INCLUDES 1 CLASS MODEL FEE) PAYABLE TO INSTRUCTOR AT FIRST CLASS.
