Spring Batik Scarf
Come spend 2 lovely afternoons creating your own beautiful and shimmering scarves- you will be delighted with the process and your finished scarves! We will apply hot soy wax resist to create lines and patterns and then hand-paint vibrant fabric dyes to 8" x 54" 100% Habotai silk scarves and watch our spring scarves bloom with color. Students can create 5 scarves in the Saturday class using batik wax, as well as watercolor painting, salt effects and shibori techniques! There will be a 30 minute lunch break and students can bring food/drink. On Sunday students set the dyes and remove batik wax. Students are encouraged to bring a clothes iron from home on Sunday. NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED. All materials are included in the Materials Fee of $50, PAYABLE TO INSTRUCTOR at workshop. Registration deadline- 2 weeks before workshop.
