You already put so much thought and labor into your work. You may have even made your own chain… Now consider that it's important and rewarding to treat findings as an integral part of your design rather than as an afterthought. In this 4-week series we will explore basic forms of simple, functional catches, bales and chain caps, with a focus on how you can adapt them to suit your style and materials. We will also discuss how to determine when you should make your own and when it's a better idea to use or modify purchased elements. Students are encouraged to bring works-in-progress to class for feedback and design assistance. Intermediate soldering skills advised. Level: advanced beginner to intermediate Kit for making practice samples will be available from instructor for $25-30.
