MANIPULATED PAPERS - SURFACES & TEXTURES

This class will allow the student time to experience the joy of creating unique papers and surfaces that will set their paintings, collages, books or other art projects apart. Using a variety of mediums we will focus on 2 or 3 new techniques each class. Each technique will be demonstrated by the instructor. Students will have ample opportunity to ask questions and explore the possibilities of each technique. Techniques will include but not be limited to dyeing, encasing with tissue paper and rice papers, monoprinting, stamps, rubbings, marbling, texturing techniques, resists, stencils and use of fabric and plastic.
