Learn or improve your knowledge of the fundamental techniques needed to create striking oil paintings with confidence. These techniques include mixing colors, applying paint, and working layers. Learn to fuse tones and colors, linear treatment, crisp effects, opaque, transparent, and translucent, and texture variation. The instructor will introduce works of art for discussion, have class demonstrations and will encourage students to explore different approaches to painting and expressing themselves. Students will complete a medium-sized painting and several small practice pieces in a relaxed environment with plenty of one-on-one instruction.
