Enjoy a relaxing afternoon learning how to mix a full range of masterful skin tones with a limited palette of only four paint colors! Working with a limited palette keeps paint mixing simple, and you’ll be amazed at the variety you can achieve. We will begin with color mixing exercises to explore the possibilities. You can make a color chart, or bring a multi-media notebook and keep the information in the way that seems most natural to you. You will then use your pre-mixed colors to paint a beautiful eye study on canvas! No oil painting or limited drawing experience? No problem! A workshop for all levels of artists. Learn color mixing, oil painting basics, eye anatomy, and more! You’ll learn color mixing principles which underpin all color mixing, and the practical experience you’ll gain will give you a foundation for more advanced color use in portraiture going forward. All materials- paint, brushes, canvases, and more- will be provided. A $25 material fee will be paid to the instructor at the start of the workshop. We will take a break, so bring a drink and a snack. Come enjoy this opportunity to advance your painting skills in a fun, relaxed environment- all levels welcome!
