Join us for a fun-filled weekend with renowned ceramic artist Michael Klapthor. In this two-day workshop, Michael will demonstrate his unique process for making a ceramic robot. The first day he'll share some examples and divulge his techniques for creating these signature works. Demonstrations and instruction on how to throw the component parts of your very own bot will follow. On day two, Michael will demonstrate how to assemble the components and methods for altering the design. As the workshop concludes, Michael will discuss options for surface finishing. All clay and tools will be provided. All you need to do is show up and have fun. Previous wheel and handbuilding experience are required for this workshop.
