BLAM! ZOOM! POP! Got your attention? Learn from a professional comic book artist on how to draw and make comics! After an overview of the sequential art medium, students will receive brief instruction in the fundamentals of drawing comics. We'll touch upon drawing some of the most important components needed in making comics like drawing the figure, poses and perspective. Students will also receive instruction on the art of composing compelling comic pages and learning about the essential elements of a comic book page. Whether your interest is more American style comics or Manga/Anime, you'll have fun learning how to make comics and draw your favorite characters or characters you have imagined yourself. Students will also develop their own story and comic page outside of class as part of the class instruction. See www.spruillarts.org for a list of supplies you will need to bring to class.
