This class will explore the creative possibilities of Mosaic art. We'll have fun learning the full process of making a mosaic from start to finish. Together we'll look at some famous historical modern artists for inspiration. We'll explore design, choose from a myriad of tesserae, (bits of glass, tile, pottery, jewels, and so much more!), and experiment with various methods of hands-on gluing, grouting and finishing. Students will learn to cut stained glass and use classic tools for shaping and manipulating tesserae. All tools and supplies are included in the $35 materials fee and enough to finish one 6" or 8" square mosaic.
