CREATE A TAKE-A-LONG SKETCHBOOK IN ANY MEDIUM

A sketch book can be a fun way to record your travels, practice a technique or develop ideas for larger works. In this workshop you will learn how to select a subject, compose it and represent it with your choice of medium. Work in ink, watercolor, graphite pencil, colored pencil, or watercolor pencil - media that won't smudge. If the weather is favorable, we will sketch around the Spruill grounds or Dunwoody Library. Bring a folding chair and hat. If the weather is not favorable, we will work from your photos or mine. Bring a sketchbook 5" x 7" to 9" x 12" and paper appropriate for your media choice. Paper is rated by pound or gsm. The higher the number, the higher the paper quality. Bring watercolor or multi-media paper that is 140 pounds if working in wet media.
