This course will be an introduction on how to transform your illustrations into prints. Students will learn a collection of beginner-friendly methods of printmaking. We will explore how to produce creative results using special materials as well as everyday found objects. Students will be shown how to etch and carve these various materials safely and they will also be guided on how to enhance their illustrations to achieve richer results. The final project will be an intermediate project on how to make patterns using block carving. By the end of the course, every student should have 1-4 examples of their new skills. Beginner to Advanced Illustrators are welcome to join this course to learn how to transform their personal art.
Optional: Students can bring completed sketches and illustrations we'll transform into prints as this class won't go into the details on how to draw or illustrate.

Nazia's Classes

Nazia DiDomenico is a print and comic illustrator based out of Atlanta, GA. She graduated from University of South Florida with a BFA in Studio Art with a focus on Animation, Printmaking, and Astronomy. She works freelance as a Production Manager for the animation studio Pencil Gator Animation Studio where she helps manage artists and film projects. During her free time, she draws comics about her cat and creates nature based illustrations. Her experience in Printmaking ranges from wood carving, copper plate etching, limestone lithography, and recycled material printing. She has been practicing the medium since 2020 to make printmaking more accessible for the daily artist.
