Photos should illustrate clearly with strong composition and values (light, dark, medium). Composition, techniques and color will be highlighted throughout the Workshop. The instructor will provide some interior scape photos to choose from in class should you require, though it is strongly suggested you bring your own.
Students may work in Oil Pastel, Soft Pastel or Oil paints. Advanced students may want to incorporate an under wash in watercolor, oil, or gouache. Please bring 2 canvases at least 11x14". Please see spruillarts.org for a list of workshop supplies needed prior to class.
The instructor will do a morning demo and afternoon demo in both soft pastel and oil pastel.
Each student will get one on one attention at the easel; instructor encourages viewing other participants works during the workshop, which will lead to a discussion and critique at the end of the day long workshop.
