Craft a functional work of art: a hand-forged (brute de forge) chef's knife. This intensive class covers the entire bladesmithing process, from initial forging to final sharpening.
You will master proper heat-treating, explore crucial blade geometry, and learn techniques for creating and installing a custom handle. The curriculum includes advanced tips and tricks for the serious knifemaker. This class is great for experienced smiths seeking to elevate their blade skills. Blacksmithing experience is required (not suitable for beginners). Class limited to 4 students. Students should wear comfortable, natural fiber (cotton) clothes they don't mind getting dirty, closed toed Shoes. Bring safety glasses.
A materials fee of $75 is PAYABLE TO THE INSTRUCTOR at the first class. All materials and supplies needed to forge a 6-to-8-inch chef knife will be provided.| Fee: | $395.00 |

Mike's Classes
Mike Moved to Dunwoody from Livermore, CA in 2000 and has raised 3 boys while volunteering within many organizations the boys have participated in.
While dealing with an empty nest, Mike took up blacksmithing as a hobby and has completed classes at both Spruill and privately. Mike has been a volunteer Assistant Instructor for the renowned John Scroggin (Burning J Forge) series of classes at Spruill and the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC.
