METAL CLAY MEETS LEATHER

Join our 10-week metal clay class where we will explore fine silver clay, leather, gemstones, and pearls. We will start by creating metal clay medallions to attach to leather cuffs. You will complete them with dye, snaps, rivts, and linings. Next, we will craft "antique" coins in settings from metal clay which will hang from leather cording using pearls and knots. A $35 kit fee (payable to the instructor at the first class) covers leather, lining, snaps, rivets, use of dyes and glues for two cuffs as well as white pearls. Please bring your own 50g of fine silver metal clay (Art Clay 999). The instructor will have a supply on hand to purchase if needed. Please also bring a long-term clay keeper to prevent drying out. Student tool kits are available for classroom use, but feel free to bring your own tools and apron. Don't forget an N95 mask for sanding.
