There are no scheduled sessions at this time. Sign up to be notified when this course is available.
Designed to enhance students' sensitivity to a visual and conceptual understanding of the human figure. Exploring how we perceive the world and create strategies to understand & articulate what we have studied. This enables us to create a process to address various aspects of the human figure and portraiture. The exercises will be broken down into small, manageable parts to ensure everyone can manage the concepts behind the drawing process. Although the class is aimed at beginners, we also focus on refining the fundamental principles that form solid conceptual understanding of visual space. Techniques and exercises presented here are rooted in the experiences of many generations of artists, culminating in the methods established during the 19th century. There will be live models, both clothed and unclothed. MODEL FEES ARE COLLECTED BY THE INSTRUCTOR AT THE FIRST CLASS. Supply list available at spruilarts.org
