Explore the exciting world of metal clay. Silver clay is .999 pure silver powder mixed with organic binders allowing you to work it like clay. The silver clay can be molded, sculpted, rolled, textured, and more. The binder burns away when fired, leaving pure silver. You will learn a variety of important and fundamental techniques working with metal clay during class. Some of these including use of textures, clay molds, wet/dry clay gem setting, clay firing and a variety of finishing techniques. This course is a prerequisite and intended for beginner to intermediate students to give them a solid foundation working with metal clay. It is required followed by Metal Clay Boot Camp 2 before moving on to All Level Metal Clay classes. Supply List available on www.spruillarts.org.
