Beginners and intermediate level wax carvers welcome! Enjoy learning the techniques of wax carving and jewelry design! In this class, we will look at what it takes to begin your design journey from sketch to ready to cast wax piece. We will focus on adding gemstones to our jewelry pieces where you will be able to set them on your own after casting. Structure: This class is an individual project driven class where you will be given guidance on how to approach, execute, and finish a design in wax to be ready for casting. Expect to have 20-45 minutes of teaching instruction followed by guided student time until the end of class. What You’ll Make: The goal is to make at least 3 projects, one ring, one pendant, and an additional piece of your choice (pendant or ring). During these 8 weeks you will develop your skills with wax and be able to then be able to successfully make wax jewelry on your own. – At the 4th week class you will turn in wax pieces to for casting. Expect 2 weeks to receive your casted pieces back. In the 8th week you will turn in your other pieces for casting and will need ito pick them up from the casting location about 2weeks later.
