Welcome to an Intermediate Bookbinding, Button-Hole edition. You will be making a semi-case bound book, which has an opening (the button-hole), allowing you to see the spine of the book and the decorative pages wrapping the signatures. In addition, we will discuss alternative binding techniques used in making Button-Hole Bound books and the terminology used so that you can continue to make more on your own. A Materials Kit Fee of $20 PAYABLE TO INSTRUCTOR AT CLASS provides the materials needed. Students need to supply their own mechanical pencil and way to take notes. All other tools are supplied for use, or you may bring your own tools based on the ADDITIONAL TOOLS section in the Supply List. See spruillarts.org for a list of supplies needed for this workshop.
