Welcome to an Introduction to Bookbinding. In this class, you will construct a hard covered book using the Japanese Hemp Leaf Stab Binding method. In addition, you will have an introduction to the tools, parts of the book, some history, and the knowledge to continue making books of your own. A Materials Kit Fee of $20 PAYABLE TO INSTRUCTOR AT CLASS provides the materials needed. Students need to supply their own mechanical pencil and way to take notes. All other tools are supplied for use, or you may bring your own tools based on the ADDITIONAL TOOLS section in the Supply List. See spruillarts.org for a list of supplies needed for this workshop.
