PAINT LIKE THE MASTERS - CEZANNE

In this 2-day workshop, we will explore a bit of art history and learn about a great master of painting - Paul Cezanne. Did you know he painted in watercolor? Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse both referred to Cezanne as "the father of us all". If they were inspired, it can be certain that we have much to learn by studying Cezanne and his methods. Once we learn more, we will try to emulate his methods in our own paintings. We will use any number of inspirations from Cezanne's work, as well as, still life or landscape photo references. You may use your own or those provided by the instructor. (Please do not use paintings by other artists as your reference unless you have their permission.) This will be a fun and informative workshop in which you can expect to yield at least one completed painting. NOTE: Rebecca will be working in watercolor but can help you if you wish to work in another media. See spruillarts.org for a list of supplies needed for this workshop.
