We will be approaching the grid from several different perspectives; historical, political, and spiritual. Using a variety of materials: colored pencils, markers, gouache, watercolor, acrylic paint, etc., we will explore some of the different ways artists have used the grid to augment their work. Because the grid is basically "a network of lines that cross each other to forma series of squares or rectangles," the premise is simple, but execution can be as simple or as complex as the artist wishes. Come and learn how the grid has influences art in the 20th and 21st centuries.
