Lauren considers herself a contemporary Southern artist. Born and raised in rural Georgia, she has been enthralled by the natural world for as long as she can remember. This relationship comes out in her work no matter the style or medium. She came to teaching later in life after owning a successful decorative painting and mural company for many years. She was invited to teach a class at a local arts center and discovered a passion for helping others achieve their artistic goals. She is still dedicated to her studio practice as well, squeezing in painting time for commissions and personal work whenever she can. Working primarily in acrylic, oil, watercolor and gouache, Lauren's works run the gamut from traditional figurative work to large-scale abstract landscapes.
In addition to her studio practice, Lauren teaches painting privately and at local art centers.
